Broke Horror Fan presents Castle Freak on limited edition, fully functional VHS!
Based on H.P. Lovecraft’s short story “The Outsider”, the 2020 reimagining of Stuart Gordon’s horror cult classic is directed by special effects artist Tate Steinsiek (Knock Knock). Genre icon Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, You’re Next) produces.
Castle Freak arrives on VHS in a black clamshell case with two variants to choose from:
Standard Edition (1st pictured) with all new artwork by Tate Steinsiek – limited to 75
Variant Edition (2nd pictured) with the theatrical artwork by Stockholm Design – limited to 25
Each tape includes a letter and an exclusive introduction by Tate Steinsiek. Stay tuned after the movie for a previously unreleased special feature: The Making of Castle Freak.
After she’s permanently blinded in a tragic car accident, Rebecca’s receives some bizarre news: her long-lost-mother has recently passed away, leaving her their family’s ancestral castle. Traveling to the estate with a group of friends, Rebecca hopes it will be an opportunity for her to reconnect with a past she never knew—and a mother who seemingly left her behind. When mysterious happenings begin to occur and her friends begin to die, Rebecca must unravel her family’s mysterious history before she too falls prey to the Castle Freak.
For optimal VHS viewing, the film has been cropped from its original aspect ratio to 4:3 full frame. It is officially licensed from RLJE Films and has been approved by director Tate Steinsiek.
